This was my 1st workout after the gruesome injury so I went light.

  • Run 400 meters (10 min. mile pace)

Match vs Huns 090404

I started on the wing for the Blacks versus the Huns on Saturday. It was a nice day for rugby, sunny, breezy, and about 85 degrees. I was very fired up to wear the Black shirt again. There was a lot of smack talking from the Huns considering the nearly beat us in our first meeting. We came out pretty fired up and ended up winning by 17 points or so. I only stayed on about 10-15 minutes before leaving with a hamstring pull. VERY FRUSTRATING because I touched the ball 3 times in the first 10 minutes and I was carving them up. Oh well. The injury was definitely related to my slacking on the program in March, failing to warm up properly on Thursday where i tweaked it at first, and lack of quality recovery time. But now i'm going to do everything I can to get back ont he field as quickly as possible.

Rugby practice 090331

Light practice. We're all pretty banged up and turnout was light. We did some defensive drills and handling. Then we played touch for fitness. We played 2 ball touch, which I have never played before, and it was a good run. Each team has their own ball. When you get touched, its a turnover and the other team resumes play with their ball. You must be in an on side position before you can participate after a turnover.

WOD -- 090331 little linda (135)

Little Linda:

10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 reps of:
  • dead lift
  • front squat
  • push press
with 135 lbs. I also did 10 1 rep sets of cleans between the DL and FS sets.

28 minutes.
